Mr. Kaczynski, why did you travel to Georgia?

Posted by mmisso on 13/08/08

First, I would like to congratulate French Presidency, Mr. Sarkozy and Mr. Kouchner themselves, for mediating preliminary peace-plan between Russia and Georgia. The bloody conflict seems to be over and Europe can enter to the second phase of crisis management – to be active in negotiating peace agreement. Thank you, gentlemen, the preliminary peace-plan is huge success of whole EU!

Second, I don’t understand the “mission” of Polish President, Mr. Kaczynski, and his fellow “wise men” from Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Why did you all travel to Tbilisi? You were not about to mediate conflict between Mr. Medvedev and Mr. Saakashvili. Sure, symbolic support for Georgia is important gesture, but on the other hand, Russia is the counterpart in conflict. And I am afraid that your countries don’t have just the best relations with Kremlin. The gesture of symbolic support could be perceived in Mr. Medvedev’s eyes like the provocation or something like that. I think that your act could undermine the position of EU and its Presidency during negotiation between Mr. Medvedev and Mr. Sarkozy. EU should speak with one voice in matter of security issues, but at the same time, steps like your ones don’t help us to do so…

    Hi Michal,

The UK newspaper the Daily Telegraph reported this morning that a Dutch reporter was killed and another wounded in Gori by a Russian fragmentation shell. So much for the “ceasefire”.

The reason Lech Kaczynski went to Georgia is that he knew something like that would happen. He remembers the Warsaw Rising. He wrote the foreword to “The Days of Freedom”. See my blog for a video explanation.

Ask yourself this question. Why was the BBC broadcast from Tbilisi this morning cut off as soon as Mr. Kaczynski started tp speak? Maybe they didn’t have a Polish translator handy? Then ask yourself why what Mr. Kaczynski had to say has still not been reported on the BBC news or on their website, as far as I can ascertain.

Where were the Allies in August 1944? Where are the EU in August 2008? Where are the cavalry from the US of A?

An addendum – According to a report in the International Herald Tribune today Poland has finally agreed to place an American missile-defence base on Polish territory. In return the Poles get a Patriot missile battery manned by the US military.

Do you suppose the EU as a whole were consulted about this? If so what do you think their opinion of this arrangement would be? BTW, the deal also involves radars in the Czech Republic.

I am from Poland. Because Russia endeavours to the break of Georgia calling in question her territorial integrality , and earlier called in question the territorial integrality of Ukraine. Georgia and Ukraine is our strategic partners and the defence of Georgia and the restraint of Russia is tantamount with the Polish reason of State. The french reason of State is other and Sarkozy did not put the condition of the behaviour of the integrality of territorial Georgia. By through Georgia had to Ukraine and Poland to flow oil and gas from Azerbaijan and Russia creating Abkhasia wants to prevent to this. Because to hold back Russia it is necessary the resoluteness to protest, U.S.A. must have behind himself the opinion of the indignant world, and not roll soft negotiations in the style Sarkozy. What did he achieve?.
